For sale is a solid 10k yellow gold Victorian era sailor's pendant featuring black and sepia portraits of both a mother and daughter on each side. The pendant is 9k solid gold (the British version of 10k). On one side the pendant features a portrait of the sailor's wife, elegant with classic Victorian high collar and upswept hair. The other side features the sailor's beloved elderly mother, with her hair hidden in a babushka style headscarf.
The round pendant is framed with large round gold beads, creating the look of a captains ship wheel. It has an attached jump ring to accommodate your chain.
What an amazing piece of history! It's easy to imagine the mysterious backstory of this sailor or captain at sea, his beautiful wife and doting mother waiting and longing and praying for him to return safely home.
