10k Gold Victorian Ruby Head Snake + Crossed Swords Pendant. Tiny!

For sale is a 10k yellow gold Victorian snake pendant with a ruby head. This stunning piece was crafted during the Egyptian revival period in the early 1800's, when Europeans and Americans became obsessed with all things from "the Orient." 

Part of the Sea Green Mermaid Reimagined Vintage Collection, we created this pendant from an antique tie tack. The snake's body is coiled in an oval pattern, with her head at the top and her tail curving up to meet it. Her body is engraved with a delicate scale design. She carries a tiny vibrant natural ruby in her head. Two crossed swords overlay her body. The swords have elegant, curving hilts. It looks like a symbol of protection.

This is the teeny tiniest of little pendants! The pendant has an attached bail to accommodate your chain. You can wear it alone or layer it with other chains and pendants. This beautifully crafted antique pendant is so unusual! You will not find one quite like it again!

**This is an antique pendant and the gold shows light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.   There is a small dent in the figure eight.  You can see it clearly in the magnified photos of the pendant.
