For sale is a 10k yellow gold pendant featuring a hand-tinted portrait of a young school girl. Part of the Sea Green Mermaid Reimagined Vintage Collection, we transformed this rare gold-framed sepia portrait from a pin into a pendant. This masterfully crafted antique pendant was created during the Victorian era. It may have been created as a mourning pendant, a keepsake for a sweetheart abroad in the Navy, or it might simply have been made in honor of a much beloved child.
The tiny oval portrait appears to be a school girl with dark hair pulled back from her face, with the high collared shirt, tie, and jacket of her school uniform. The photograph is black and white with sepia coloring. The frame is a lovely opal with a swirling pattern of engraving. The photo is backed in solid gold and you will see the solder mark on the back where we had the pin removed. This lovely antique pendant has an attached bail for your chain. What a sweet, romantic picture of love!
