10k Gold Silver Top Star Sapphire Pendant w Rose-Cut Diamonds *Video* R

For sale is a 10k yellow gold and sterling silver pendant with star sapphires and rose-cut diamonds. Part of the Sea Green Mermaid Reimagined Vintage Collection, this magical pendant was converted from a pair of Georgian era 10k gold silver-top earrings.  This pendant is a classic; it is a stunning example of the jewelry from the period. The pendant is a large, flat circle of of 10k gold, with the gemstones set in silver. "Silver top" jewelry was popular during the Georgian era, when gemstones were set in silver or platinum to accentuate their brilliance. 

The star sapphire is a wonderfully subtle shade of powder gray. The sapphire displays a large rayed star in bright sunlight. In dim light you can see a glowing asterism that moves around the stone as you move it in the light. The antique diamonds are hand-cut and appear rough to our modern eyes. Some of the diamonds are clear, some have a gray or yellow hue. All of the diamonds are natural. Each gemstone is secure in a hand-crafted bezel setting. The pendant has a large yellow gold bail to accommodate your chain.
