For sale is an antique 14k gold pendant with the insignia of P.S. 40 the Bronx, a public school in Manhattan, New York. We had our jeweler transform it from a pin to a pendant. The pendant is a small yellow gold disk with scalloped edges.

The center of the circle displays the school's crest in raised gold. The crest is an open book framed by laurel branches, with a lighted torch behind it. The book is painted in red enamel with the number "22" in gold, signifying the graduating class year of the original owner.

Above the insignia, the words "P.S. 40" are painted in black enamel. Below the insignia the words "THE BRONX" appear in black enamel. The tiny pendant has an attached bail to accommodate your chain. 

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
