For sale is a 10k yellow gold pendant featuring a ruby red goblet or chalice made of antique glass, decorated with tiny cabochons. The base of this very rare pendant reads "GRAL BAYREUTH" and a little research shows me it is a souvenir from the famous Parsival Opera written in the late 1800s by the German composer Richard Wagner. The opera features the Holy Grail that Jesus drank from at the Last Supper) and has been shown at the Bayreuth Festival in Bayreuth Germany each year since is debut 1882.

The pendant has a bail on the stem to accommodate your chain. A lovely memento of travels or a reminder of one's faith, this pendant is elegant worn on its own, and can be layered with other antique antique pendants and charms for a different look. 

The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)

The story of the opera Parsifal:   

Parsifal (WWV 111) is an opera or a music drama in three acts by the
German composer Richard Wagner and his last composition.
 Arthurian knight Parzival (Percival) and his quest for the Holy Grail.
Wagner conceived the work in April 1857, but did not finish it until 25 years later. In composing it he took advantage of the particular acoustics of his newly built Bayreuth Festspielhaus. Parsifal was first produced at the second Bayreuth Festival in 1882. The Bayreuth Festival maintained a monopoly on Parsifal productions until 1903, when the opera was performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
